She started learning the cello when she was 11, beginning her studies with Gevorg Sargsyan and later on with Pei-Sian Ng. She has also attended masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Torleif Thedeen, Gemme Rosefield, Nicholas Jones, Lowri Blake, Leslie Tan, and Franz Bartolomey.  <img width="1200" height="801" width_o="1200" height_o="801" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/5c377d94a3bf20c71917b2bfd0409597009153db24b6bbe0621b798a1709b20e/20151124_cts_5253_webres.JPG" data-mid="80163218" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/5c377d94a3bf20c71917b2bfd0409597009153db24b6bbe0621b798a1709b20e/20151124_cts_5253_webres.JPG" /> She performed Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto with cellist Chan Wei Shing in 2015 and recorded Bang Wen Fu’s Loving. As an avid fan of chamber music, she performed with the Vivace Cello Quartet at the St Mary Abbotts Church and also Edwin Hillier’s Analogue for Piano Trio at the From the Soundhouse Concert at the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall. <img width="6142" height="4095" width_o="6142" height_o="4095" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/a0c4d1fe17f63d452d72aa36a4176e0e0194784536ce0d6fba7cb0828b4323bf/IMG_8300.JPG" data-mid="141972208" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/a0c4d1fe17f63d452d72aa36a4176e0e0194784536ce0d6fba7cb0828b4323bf/IMG_8300.JPG" /> Besides being involved in classical music, Olivia is also active in the pop music industry and performed live with artistes such as JJ Lin, Kit Chan and Olivia Ong. She was also featured as a soloist in Yawen Love Tour with acclaimed harpist Lee Che-Yi in both Taipei and Kaohsiung Arena. She was also invited by the Singapore Armed Forced Central Band as a guest player this year. She has conducted in-school workshops at the Larmenier & Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, and led string ensembles as a strings tutor at the Tri-borough Music Hub in London in collaboration with RCM Sparks. She believes in creating a safe, fun and nurturing learning environment for her students, while developing a good foundation and technique, championing the importance of catering to different learning styles.
